Hip and Knee

Dr Ali Gursel is an Orthopaedic Surgeon with subspecialty interests in surgery of the Hip and Knee; Arthroscopic, Joint Replacement and Revision surgery.

He is a former member of Hip Advisory Committee. A current member of Standards Australia and member of Arthroplasty Society of Australia, Hip Arthroscopy Society. Current Chair of the NSW AOA.

Training and Education

Dr Gursel graduated from UNSW with honours in 1992 and spent his junior years at Concord Repatriation Hospital. He commenced his AOA accredited orthopaedic training with the Sydney Northside Scheme and obtained his Orthopaedic Fellowship (FRACS) in 2001. This was followed by arthroplasty fellowships in the UK and Australia.

Professional Interests

Dr Gursel is a member of the Federal Government Health and Ageing Hip Advisory Committee, the Australian Orthopaedic Association, the Australian Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Australian Medical Association. He is on the NSW Executive of AOA and member of the Medical Services Committee.

He is a Visiting Medical Officer at the Sydney Adventist Hospital, Norwest Private Hospital and Macquarie Hospital.
