The health and wellbeing of our patients, staff and community are our priority.

In line with the most recent NSW Department of Health Advice and Guidelines, Specialty Orthopaedics has implemented the following measures.


Our Patients

  1. If you have FEVER, COUGH or ANY FLU-LIKE SYMPTOMS, we request you to please reschedule your appointment.

  2. We offer telehealth as an option. This means your doctor can call you or video conference.


Our Waiting Room

To minimise any risk of transmission, the following changes have been made to keep the number of people in our waiting rooms and consulting rooms to at any one time to a minimum

  • Our chairs in the waiting room have been spread out in keeping with social distancing recommendations.

  • We ask that you wait for your appointment outdoors or in your car and come in for your appointment just before it begins.

  • We strongly suggest only one support person if needed accompanies any patient.

  • If  your doctor is running late, we ask that you wait outdoors or in your car and we will call you once your doctor is ready.

  • Please make use of the hand sanitisers provided for patients and staff on both arrival and exit.

  • Be assured that our staff and cleaners are cleaning all high-touch surfaces on regular basis using disinfectant solutions.

  • We have removed from our waiting rooms any items that may be frequently handled by multiple people such as magazines. We apologise for the inconvenience.

Staff

  1. Any staff member who is symptomatic has been advised to not come to work, to quarantine and to get tested.

  2. All of our staff have been asked to maintain a clean and clutter free environment at all times.

 
What You Can Do

Working together, we can keep Australia safe.

As much as possible, we ask that you:

  1. Practise social distancing by keeping 1.5metres apart and avoiding prolonged contact with people not in your household.

  2. Maintain good hand hygiene by cleaning your hands thoroughly and regularly by using an alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Hand sanitising should be carried out:

    • Before entering an areas used by other people.

    • After using the bathroom.

    • After coughing or sneezing.

    • Before and after eating food.

  3. Practise good cough and sneeze etiquette by:

    • Keeping away from other people.

    • Using disposable tissues or clothing (e.g., into your elbow), disposing of the tissues and masks properly and thoroughly cleaning your hands afterwards.
